Well, last week there was this shooting in Denver during the screening of the Dark Knight Rises, well it shook me literally, and I never expected something of this sort to happen in a country like US, well for me US is all about tall buildings, developed nation, as it comes in movies, pretty much arrogant, that's all the opinion I had of it.
Well in India, as of now I have not heard of such an incident, may be I don't read much. But from the limited knowledge I have, everyday I open some news site to see the headlines, there is one story which repeats itself. 'Story' by this I mean, a news article, it does not refer to a story with happy ending, or to be precise, its not a story even, and I seriously don't know what's the ending is !
The article I refer is Rape, which according to me is a very very serious offense, and I believe in karma, what goes around will definitely come around, so just because someone cant prove it, it does not stop there.
I don't want to quote the definition of this, all I want is people to think.
Perhaps it is the only crime in which the victim becomes the accused and, in reality, it is she who must prove her good reputation, her mental soundness, and her impeccable propriety.
When we look at the stats, there is just only one in 70 rape instances where a case is registered, and out of 1200 cases registered only 2 cases a judgement is in favor of the feminine gender. Even in our law which was formed for the people , by the people, its too difficult to prove it, and the moral courage one needs to have in order to register a case is way too high than a normal standard.
Boss, you have grown physically, you go to gym to keep your physical strength or stamina or whatever you call it, but is there any moment where you have realized, where your mental strength lies.
Mental strength is not one can get in a moment or so, it needs to be cultivated properly, not by others, but by yourself. Even in wrong place, at even a wrong time, one should know how to behave.
People in India , say they have pride over their family values, but what people don't realize is family values is nothing but the personal values of our ancestors, so what we say now as family values, is nothing but the personal values of our ancestors. So one should have some personal values and should maintain it.
In cities, with our modern culture we have pubs, disco , parties everywhere. What does your mind think, immediately after seeing parties, so that itself sums up whats happening there, and what you expect there.
Be a Roman in Rome, is what most of the people say, but even in Rome, people still remain as people , and animals remain as animals. The question is who are you !
Ah, speaking of animals, we have seen in National Geographic channel or Animal planet, that they mate, but only difference in it is the male animal will not do it without the permission of the female animal.
I agree men and women are in this world , each gender feels the other gender is the single most source of joy in the world in terms of everything, what people miss here is that there should be a consent in it.
Another common thing one gets to hear is, ' hit on a girl in a pub, she has come there to do it', come on that's too a short minded thinking, the actions we do actually describes what we are, and not where we do it. Doing such a thing in a temple or a pub both are wrong the same way, and one should realize that first.
Another common thing which any rapist would say is, ' girl's dressing actually provoked, it was revealing, blah blah blah', that's another dumb reason, say you buy a new mercedes/bmw and drive it, does it mean that you are provoking a thief to take your car. If you step out on street, which do you see more, men with shorts banians/ men peeing on roads or women in short dresses, everyone knows the answer to this, so this way of justifying one's action is totally a wrong one.
To top it all, politicians/cops say that any feminine gender should not come out in the dark, boss that should have been the other way round, people who are not mentally strong should not come out , and that is not just in the dark, in broad open sunlight even ! Dont just teach the feminine gender that they should not wear provoking dress, that they shouldn come out in the dark, teach men that woman too is a human being, and not some object, teach them what is dignity, and a failure to do so , is actually a failure to his manhood. To rape some one is not being a man, and its not something to be proud of. Rape according to me includes everything, touching a woman, dashing one ,grabbing a woman without her permission, and its upto you to decide who you are. To force a woman into something, and to touch her without her permission is more worse than stealing , is more worse than cheating, more worse than money laundering, or whatever modern crime dictionary has.
A country's development is complete when a time comes when a woman can come out in dark, and return safely back at anytime she wants to. That's where the real development of a nation resides, other things which all the economists say , will automatically follow when such a situation has come.

I don't know if you're watching nat geo home edition, but sex among animals is anything but consensual. Animals are the last thing you want to use as an example for consensual sex :)

I just meant even among animals,its like that. Its not just this, a tiger hunts a deer only if it actually requires food at that point of time, so othertimes even if the deer is around it doesnt do it, just for the sake of it.

DeleteThe above article should apply not to the injustice done to women who are strangers to a man, but also to his own wife. Martial rape is less spoken about,but in a country of arranged marriage and high poverty it is the worst crime.A woman, let alone her country men, cant even trust her own kin for some dignity.
