Muran..A small peek into it

Hi all,
First of all , a happy pooja/dassera/navaratri to you all !!
I was just enjoying my 2 day off with the idiot box, and after a pretty busy week in office, 2 day off comes as a treat, it gives me more joy than the message ' Rs***** credited to your account ' from my bank. Continuing, in order to pass time, decided to switch from tv to movie, and hence decided to go for the movie Muran.
I had no expectations from the movie, I had not even seen the trailer completely before, just expected a decent time pass, and the movie served more than it.

This has no big star cast, 2 lead roles, essayed by Prasanna and Cheran, and correspondingly 2 female lead for them. Its not the routine love story, its a nice decent thriller. Its a thriller, has no violence, no gore scenes perfectly suitable for family audience.
Story is pretty simple, 2 strangers meet up in a road due to some circumstances and they opt or infact being pushed to travel together as its the last option available. Just to pass the journey time, both speak of each other.  Cheran , as Nandha reveals himself as a music director for ad films, trying for a chance for a movie, tells about his life to Arjun (Prasanna). And after a couple of interesting scenes, which shows the character of both the persons, Cheran as a normal guy, and Prasanna as a rich guy, who loves thrill and just enjoys life with no responsibilities, a typical son of a big businessman. Both travel together and get to know of each other, and from both of their stories, they understand that their life though is noway related with each other, has one thing in common. Both are not happy, and both have a person in their life who are obstructing their happiness.
And hence Arjun makes a deal with Nandha, that he will kill that person who is obstructing Nandha's happiness, and Nandha has to do the same for Arjun, and since they are strangers, there will be no contact and hence nobody can find that ' it was a planned accident ' . Those dialogues with which Prasanna tries to convince Cheran for the deal is simply brilliant, 'accidents will happen always, none can predict it nor prevent it' .Cheran refuses the deal, and he goes in his way and Prasanna in his.
But after 3 months Prasanna does his part of the deal, and asks Cheran to complete the deal for him, that marks the end of the first half.
Second half was good , but had some scenes, thereby making it not effective as the first half. But on the whole movie is good, with a neat plot, comes with a good finish in the end and a nice twist in the tale when nearing the climax.
The screenplay fails after that twist is revealed, with a song sequence adding to the misery. Could have avoided the song, and hence the grip of the story after the twist wouldn have faltered much.
Prasana, as Arjun has pulled of his role very well, and Cheran as the typical matured man role has done well too, Prasanna's role is meaty enough for all aspiring actors, and Prasanna has done it with ease.

Its a nice decent movie, which is well different from the commercial masala movies, or exotic locale movies , just as the title claims, its different. It will be a movie to remember for sure, atleas till the Diwali clash !

Bye till nex,
