Well I have been busy completely, and weekends now have become entirely time to doze off. Now that we have moved to a new house, we dont have anything literally in the new house when compared to the previous one, as the previous one was a fully furnished house.
Now I realize how much time one has over a day.During weekdays obviously, as there is always work goin on, I find it difficult to put a pause on the day's work and to continue it from the same point the next day.So I stretch a bit , and complete my work. That sense of completion gives me a better feeling. Somehow that doesnt come even if I complete the work well ahead just because someone else told me to do it. I never had the intention to do it, but just because someone had told me to do it, am doing it.
Now to the topic, I had been thinking and of late reading a bit too, I was wondering what am I doing with my life. I have almost a fixed routine, and I find it difficult if something goes out of schedule. I don't know, even in weekends where I have no need to get up early, I still get up in my usual time, and I need to admit that even on Friday night or Sat night, where most of IT people are partying/celebrating/boozing I find it nice in my bed curled up inside my bedsheets than to stay awake. Somehow the timer circuit in my body is always tuned to that, it does not give me ways to handle the exceptions of weekend night. Earlier when I had even a lot of things to do, I wont plan it well in advance, somehow it will all fall into place sometimes, and sometimes it failed miserably and I never did any retrospection. Now with 2 years of working, I find lot of things actually go well with planning, and now I plan properly to get the things done, somehow that has seeped into my personal life too a bit, and I find it really bad to do somethings without a plan.
Here comes the difficult part, weekends are meant to be fun, it actually means there is no one over your head telling you to do something , not to do something, and to do this in this time etc. essentially no one bossing around you. A proper relaxation would be to do things at your own pace , at your own time. So does that mean it should not have a plan ?
What I realized of late is actually not doing anything through out the day is also a plan :)
Say for an instance, in our work we have lot of things to do, and we may like to do everything, but we cant do it all in the given amount of time, as time is more or less a constant, even if it changes, the deadlines will approach sooner, and very rare chances of pushing the deadlines away.
So it requires a plan, to identify what we can do and what we cannot, given an infinite amount of time, everybody can do everything, given the limited amount of time, not all can do everything.
The same holds good for spending time leisurely too, you need to plan to do what to do to pass time , if you need to spend it productive you need to plan it for sure.
Each and every day requires a plan, and everyone should have some treasured amount of time for themselves. Each one of us have some moments which we cherish everyday, which gives us more satisfaction for the day. Those are our own precious moments; a spot of sunshine to look forward to everyday — that one thing that makes the day worth living, stirs your heartstrings! This is the everyday moment that we all look forward to and live each day for.
And if we dont have that moment in our day to day life, we need to seriously think what is going wrong and where. That moment will help us to come back to our normal when we are down, and its very important as everyone of us will face some down time at one point of time, how we come back is what differs from person to person, and to come back we definitely need that sort of moment which will help.
Now what seems relaxing for one might not seem relaxing for other, for instance I love hearing songs in a speaker system rather than in headphones, somehow hearing in headphones I feel it is a restriction , in office we cant use speaker systems as it will affect others, but given a free room, I will always chose speaker system, even if on a very good headphones.Some will prefer hearing in headphones even if alone.
Each one of us will find that moment mostly when one has his own space , if someone gets into other's space its natural to get offended, and it definitely varies from person to person.
If I ask you , what will be your moment, most of you would say , music or a early morning walk or a long ride in your bike/car or a good peaceful morning with your coffee or a nice trip to some picnic spots with your loved ones, or a walk with your pet, cleaning your bike/car, watching a movie, sleep this will be the most common..
Now we realize those moments are almost the same irrespective of the age group , social status, gender , and now I bet most of you would'nt have realized that I missed work in the list.
Wouldnt it be better if our work was also a moment for the day, if not 'the moment' of your day.
So one should learn to plan one's day with only such moments, and those activities which makes you feel the other way can be avoided totally instead of finally landing in misunderstanding oneself and others too..
As a matter of fact, I realize that moment always lies around a corner, and its often the simplest of the feel which gives you a feel making the day extraordinary !
