Hi all,
Well this might turn out to be my last blog post even. No one knows when one gets arrested for what.
And even you can get arrested as you have been reading my blog posts.
Okay, you still have the guts to read, and me too I still feel I can write.
Indian government law is mixed up, there are too much complicated and twisted , twisted enough for benefit of some. That some definitely does not include the common man, so no use for you and me.
We have freedom of speech, which does not literally translate to freedom on blogger or twitter or facebook or any other social networking site.
Today some one got arrested over posting a status and liking a status, some day one might get arrested for not liking a status, and not sharing a status.
India 2013 Dec 20.
Person X arrested due to misconduct in facebook.
When asked why the arrest happened, the responsible minister said as ' Person X was always liking person Y's status, but for the status 'My political party is good party' , he did not like, which is an insult to the national party, and hence needs to be arrested'.
And since he did not share the status with his friends, he is not respecting the party, and hence according to Indian constitution 'Any action which involves in hurting the religious/any sentiment of any citizen should be punished' this guy can get punished as he did not respect the status of Y saying his party is good.
On investigation police department found that X had actually liked statuses like 'Justin Beiber is a good singer' , 'Munaf Patel is world's deadliest bowler' , and still did not like this status which has caused an national emergency alert, and animosity between people.
Police department did an undercover operation to arrest X overnight in his apartments, where he was found sleeping under a mosquito net.
After serious harassment on questioning X why he didn like it, he complained that in TamilNadu there is acute power supply, and the time when power supply is there, broadband doesnt work, so he was not able to log in to facebook. Now the police department has to arrest TNEB minister, but unfortunately he does not belong to the same party, and he is a member of another party. Police department is clueless as the regional law minister and central law minister belong to different parties and hence they never go with each other.
As the case developed original guy 'Y' who had put the status initially was arrested too saying he showed a disrespect to the opposite party, as he did not say the other party is good !
And when asked why X was not released when he did not have access to facebook, it was told that police department was intelligent enough to find that X had a smart phone, and hence could have easily accessed facebook from his mobile, and his negligence to do so is a severe crime, as it had resulted in hurting the sentiments of Y and as a result his party !
Person X was quote saying his usual monthly balance in his airtel prepaid sim will be in range of 10 rs using which calls are only difficult , and 3G rates are pretty high and he hence cant use net from his mobile ! Police department is now consulting Airtel for legal actions now.
Vazhga valamudan !

ReplyDeletethe thing is IT act in India is pretty naive.. in its current form, govt / politicians who re not as mature as the internet users use it to their advantage.. its imp to note that other pillars of democracy, judiciary & media came to the rescue of the arrested 2..as responsible citizens we need 2 understand ther re many such laws wit loopholes & we need 2 question them & reduce the amt of whining & self satire we make on ourselves for a constructive future..
ReplyDeleteI hope someone really does that !
