Hello all,
I am noticing of late that we are quite occupied over the week, and all activities we want to do , we push it to the weekend. And when weekend comes we never materialize that, and it's always the case that it gets spilled over to the next weekend, and finally it happens over some random day, for which mathematically probability of such an occurrence would have been very very minimal.
Same is the case if we wanted to remember something, I remember all those stuffs which is totally not relevant, but the exact piece of information which I wanted, I will never get it. I intended to write this post , as I was stuck in this situation sometime last week or to the previous one, but now I dont get what it was. When I actually think something else, I will get that. That's always the irony.
When you actually travel, you would definitely realize that. We would have thought of something to take for instance when travelling, but when we actually pack it, all sort of items we would have packed, but not the one which we originally intended for.
And to top it all, when you actually board your bus/train/airline you actually realize that you had forgot to pack it, and that would be the first thing you require once you reach your destination.
Probably if Newton was around this time, he would have given 3 axioms of travel and this would have been the top of the list.
I have personally experienced this, I was so bored over a weekend, I was browsing through flipcart to order some book, and I actually ended up buying a electrical appliance, and after I made the transaction, I realized that I originally started browsing to buy a book !
Everyone of us will face a situation that one has to do something within a short amount of time, say to transfer money to some friend of yours online. I have always faced this, that when I simply wanted to check my account balance, I have always entered my password right and logged in perfectly in the first attempt. But when I had actually wanted to do a transaction like transfer money or pay a bill , you will never get your password right. All sort of information will come to your mind, but not your transaction password.
You will realize that you actually remember some random text which you had seen somewhere over the day , the CAPTCHA which you had got while changing the password, but not your password.
I was moving around BTM layout in Bangalore , and I was taking some friends of mine to a place near there. I have been there a lot of times, one of the famous landmarks there is Gangotri circle, and I couldn get the name right when I actually intended to do so.That moment I realized that the area which I was looking for is named after a hotel which is there. I could even recollect the information that, the owner of the hotel was so successful in his business that he later set up bar there in the same area, and a hospital nearby too, I remember that it all has the same name, but I just could not just get the name.
I even map somethings to something to remind me of it, even that does not help. When you actually prepare that map in your mind, you will find it simple and too silly of a thing to even remember. But when the information is actually required, I realize that I forgot what thing I related to this, so as to remember the original piece of information. Then I realize remembering a mapped thing instead of the original thing also requires remembering :P
That moment when you think to get what you would have mapped to it, you look around for some clue, and I see my shoes, and realize that the brand ambassador for that shoe company is Federer, and he is playing in Rotterdam now, and you realize that he has won 17 grand slams as of now, and he is currently playing in ABN Amro World Tennis tournament, and Sachin Tendulkar is a great fan of him. It goes on, I remember that Sachin was in news last week for scoring a century in the first class match for Mumbai, and he has equalled Sunil Gavaskar's record of domestic centuries, to be precise 81 centuries. And you realize that Sachin Tendulkar has got out the most number of times to Chaminda Vaas in ODIs, to be precise 9 times, and I even realize that Vaas has a very long name, it actually goes like 'Warnakala Suriya Patabidnige Upshanta Joseph Chaminda Vaas', and then suddenly my mind comes back to sense, where did I start this , then I actually forget what I was looking for originally. !
Same is the case with this blogpost, I got an idea to post on yesterday night, but then when I started drafting this post now, I forgot what it was ! May be someone can help me !
